Dear Families,

Hi everyone! It’s hard to believe that March begins next week! February has flown by! This week, we are wrapping up milestones and looking ahead to Lent.

This Sunday

We will have our final winter milestone session this week!

  • Kindergarten (Beginner bible) – CORL 304
  • First Grade (Worship Education) – CORL 301
  • Second Grade (Communion Education) – CORL 300
  • Third Grade (Catechism Education) – CORL 301
  • Fourth Grade (Bible Skills) – Memorial 200 (Spencer Love Room)
  • Fifth Grade (Spiritual Practices) – CORL 306
  • Preschoolers will begin their special “Bible Heroes” series in MLC 101

**In the months to come, the children’s formation committee will be evaluating our Sunday School and milestone plans for next school year. Because attendance has been lower than expected this year, I’m sure there will be some adjustments & restructuring. If you have feedback you would like to offer or ideas you would like to share, please feel free to contact me or any members of the children’s formation committee.

ONE WORSHIP SERVICE THIS SUNDAY AT 11AM IN THE SANCTUARY. NEIL DUNNAVANT WILL PREACH ON HIS LAST SUNDAY AT FPC BEFORE HIS RETIREMENT. NO REJOICE!

**NEW PARENT CLASS: Families Growing in Faith– Join other parents in the back of the Life Center for fellowship & discussion.

Coming Up

Lent begins next week on Ash Wednesday, March 2. There will be a service in the Sanctuary at 6pm. No nursery care will be provided, but children of all ages are welcome to attend and receive the imposition of ashes. If you are unable to attend, I will be attaching and “Ash Wednesday At Home” short lesson/worship in my E-news next week.

We will be trying out a new Sunday School model for elementary students March 6-April 3. All kids, K-5th, will begin together in CORL 306 for an engaging bible lesson! Then, they will break out into two groups – K-2nd; 3rd-5th – for some more focused, age level activities. I’m excited to try out this model for a few weeks! If you would like to help with leading either of the small groups, please let me know.

CLICK HERE to sign up for an adult Lenten small group. Deadline is TOMORROW, Feb. 24.

Other Notes and Info

Regarding masks – Like most of you, we are certainly aware of the changes that Guilford County and Guilford County schools have made to their mask policies. FPC mask policies are made by our session appointed Covid task force. At this time, they are not recommending any changes to the mask policy at FPC. Therefore, masks are still required inside the building for everyone age 5 and up. The task force is constantly evaluating the situation and will meet again in early March to consider if any changes are warranted.

Thanks for your continued support and patience!
