Newton Cowan, Associate Pastor for Pastoral Care

This past Thursday I had the honor and privilege to be crowned King Kleenex complete with crown and cape. Phae was crowned Queen Kleenex. We read a story to two of the preschool classes about what it means to live in a caring kingdom. The preschool has been collecting items to be donated to help others — they are learning what it means to care for our community and each other.  What a blessing our preschool is to our church and community. Important lessons they are learning each day, and important lessons for us, living in a caring community.

This morning the palm branches are being swept up and we are preparing for Maundy Thursday. We will gather in the Life Center, a place where, as a caring community, we continue to feed the hungry twice a week. We will join our Hot Dish & Hope guests, folks from the community and congregation. We will participate in handwashing and share in the sacrament of communion. We hope that you will join us Thursday at 5:30 as we take this journey through Holy Week.
