Vacation Bible School & Summer Kids Disciple Club week is always one of the best (and most exhausting!) weeks of the year! This year, it will be July 20-23 from 9am-noon and we are super excited to be using our own VBS curriculum with younger children and an Earth Care Curriculum with older children. Our Vacation Bible School is for children who are age three-rising second graders. Our theme this year is “Barnyard Bash: Where Our Faith Is Growing Strong!” It is a curriculum that was written by FPC staff, so no other place in our community will have anything like it! Children will learn that, when we need courage, peace, love, or joy, we have to have faith in God. We will explore the bible stories of David & Goliath, Abigail, Jesus’ Birth, & the Road to Emmaus through interactive bible storytelling, games, science, crafts, music, and prayer. We’ll meet some farm animals along the way and wrap up the week with a petting zoo, pizza lunch, and closing program. Older children who are rising 3rd-5th graders, spend their week in Kids Disciple Club. KDC takes a more outreach-focused approach, providing children with on and off site, hands on opportunities to serve others in our community. As First Presbyterian works to become an Earth Care Congregation, KDC students will explore different ways to care for God’s Great Big Beautiful World while learning what the bible teaches us about being good stewards of creation. At FPC, both VBS & KDC are led by church staff in conjunction with an array of volunteers from our congregation and our community. We take very seriously the safety of all children entrusted to our care. Therefore, all volunteers must attend a Child Protection Training session and undergo a background screening.
Registration for both camps will be open through June 21, 2020. Early bird discount pricing will be offered to anyone who registers before April 12, 2020. If a parent or grandparent volunteers for at least two of the four days, they will receive a special link to register their children at half price.
