Coming Up

LAST CALL to sign up for our Share the Love Valentine’s Outreach Project!! Last year we delivered over 70 Valentine gifts for members of our congregation that need a little extra love due to death of a loved one, illness, or other situations. We are nowhere near that number this time! Please consider helping us care for our own congregation in this sweet, special way. SIGN UP & MORE DETAILS HERE.

LAST CALL for Passport Camp Registration as well! CLICK HERE TO REGISTER. I will be cancelling any unclaimed spots on Monday! Passport is for current 3rd-6th graders and we will be attending the session at Greensboro College July 11-14. If you have questions or would like more information, please reach out. Initial deposit of $150 per child is due by this Sunday, January 30.

We’re bringing back Vacation Bible School in summer 2022!!! After much discernment, the children’s formation committee has decided to bring back our traditional VBS/KDC this summer! It will take place on August 1-4 from 9am-noon. We are extremely excited to get back to this favorite tradition! We will be using our own curriculum, so our VBS won’t be like any other one in the community! However, our ability to offer VBS safely & effectively hinges on our volunteers.  Please consider helping out if you can. If you can’t, but would like VBS to happen for your kids, please invite someone else in the congregation to volunteer. You can read more about the available volunteer slots and S

IGN UP HERE. **We will be evaluating our volunteer capacity in mid-February and, if we have enough volunteers to move forward, we will open registration in mid-March. Of course, we will monitor the Covid situation as we get closer to the August date and make adjustments as needed.

Other Notes and Info

Lent is coming! Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, March 2. As a staff, we have been working on plans for adults, children, worship, and more! The current Covid situation has, of course, complicated this as we cannot know what things will look like a month or more in the future! If you would like to get a jump start on Lent for your family, I highly recommend this new book, Faithful Families for Lent, Easter, And Resurrection by Traci Smith. Traci has some GREAT ideas for observing Lent at home with children. I will be sharing some of her ideas throughout the season here in the E-News, but I would encourage you to consider purchasing the book now so you can begin discerning which suggestions would work best and be most meaningful for YOUR household!
