Kicking off the year in music

Join us in Mullin Life Center for a potluck dinner Wednesday, Sept. 6, at 6 pm as we celebrate the beginning of another year of making music together. Bring a dish to share.

At 5:30 pm Wednesday, Sept. 6, in Mullin Life Center (before our potluck dinner) we'll have an information session for anyone who would like to know more about our children's choirs.

Cherub Choir

Children will sing, play instruments, participate in musical games, and be exposed to music in a fun environment. Cherub Choir will have opportunities during the year to share their talents with the congregation.

Ages: 4 (by Aug. 31) to grade K

Credo Choir

Credo Choir explores a variety of musical styles and develops musical skills for the young singer. By singing, playing instruments, and incorporating musical games, we will learn about steady beat, note reading/rhythm skills, healthy vocal tone and other beginning musical skills. Credo Choir provides music during worship several times throughout the year, often combining with the Canticle Choir.

Canticle Choir

Canticle Choir builds upon earlier musical experiences and provides a fun environment to develop musical skills. Note/rhythm reading, score reading, part singing and healthy vocal production are emphasized. Canticle Choir provides music during worship throughout the year, often combining with the Credo Choir. Canticle Choir members also participate in singing field trips and festivals with other churches.

Adults in Music

Chancel Choir

The Chancel Choir leads worship in the traditional worship services through anthems and hymn singing every Sunday morning from September through May. We rehearse Wednesday evenings from 7 to 8:45 pm and rehearse on Sundays at 7:50 am (for the 8:30 am service) and at 9:40 am (for the 10:45 am service).

The choir, lead and directed by Robert Wells, also sings larger choral works and musically celebrates the church year with special emphasis on All Saints' Day, Christmas Eve, and Good Friday Tenebrae services. Additionally, the choir sings a Lessons and Carols service each December as a part of FPC’s A Little Advent Music series. The choir gathers for social events at least twice a year and is a supportive and fun group. Members of the Chancel Choir represent a wide variety of ages and musical abilities. New members are always welcome.

Rejoice! Ensemble

With guitars, piano, bongos and more, the Rejoice! Ensemble leads eclectic music for weekly Rejoice! services and other special services and events. If you like to sing or play an instrument, give it a try! Interested vocalists and instrumentalists are invited to contact James Keith for more information.

Westminster Ringers

This is an adult handbell choir that plays a variety of beginning and intermediate level music. This choir rehearses on Monday afternoons from 4:15 – 5:15 pm. The Westminster Choir provides leadership in worship services throughout the year.

Coventry Ringers

A more advanced adult handbell choir which rehearses on Tuesday evening from 5:45 – 6:45 pm. This handbell choir prepares for performances during worship services, as well as special worship services, such as Christmas Eve and Easter Sunday.
