Music Ministry
Our staff includes three full-time and three part-time pastors in addition to our Sid & Cathy Batts Pastoral Residents. This program brings in recent seminary graduates who spend two years working in ministries across the church, including preaching.

Interim Pastor

Danny is serving as FPC’s interim while we search for the 12th senior pastor in our history. A Mississippi native, he served in churches across the South before retiring after 18 years at First (Scots) Presbyterian in Charleston, SC. He and his wife, Tita, have three children and six grandchildren. Danny enjoys reading, golf, collecting epitaphs, college sports, and travel.

Rev. Neil Dunnavant

Executive Pastor and Associate Pastor for Outreach

Neil is a graduate of the University of Virginia and Princeton Theological Seminary. He and his wife, Kate, have two children and two grandchildren. He enjoys running, listening to music, healthy cooking & eating, reading, and watching films. He is fluent in Spanish. Neil graduated from Grimsley High School here in Greensboro.

Rev. Dolly Jacobs

Associate Pastor for Pastoral Care

A native of New Orleans, Dolly is working toward a doctorate in Pastoral Care Counseling at San Francisco Theological Seminary. She is married to Bill Jacobs and they have two daughters, Sydney Hunt and Ce Ce Hunt.

Rev. Dr. Doug McLeroy

Parish Associate

Doug served 30 years as a Chaplain in the Army and 15 years as a pastor before (mostly) retiring. He is a Clinical Member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists and a Fellow in the American Association of Pastoral Counselors.

Newton grew up at FPC. A graduate of Union Presbyterian Theological Seminary, he recently completed the Clinical Pastoral Education Program at Moses Cone Hospital.

Rev. Maria Hanlin

Pastoral Care

Maria earned her Master of Divinity at the School of Theology at Claremont and her doctorate at Wesley Theological Seminary. Last year she retired after six years as CEO of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Greensboro.

SID & CATHY BATTS PASTORAL RESIDENTS

Rev. Keith Dove

Keith recently graduated from Duke Divinity School and was ordained at FPC this fall. He brings music to his ministry as well as preaching, and plays trombone, banjo, guitar, and piano. He is passionate about working for peace and justice. Keith enjoys fly fishing in the Blue Ridge, baking desserts, and folk tales.

Rev. Alexandra Mauney

Alexandra recently graduated from Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, Ga., and was ordained at FPC this fall. She studied music as an undergraduate at St. Olaf College in Minnesota. Her interests include throwing pottery, fresh pastries, and strong coffee.
