Dear First Pres Faith Community:
With consultation from the chair and vice chair of the Session-appointed COVID-19 Task Force, the decision has been made to suspend the 11 am in-person worship service immediately.
The task force has been closely watching medical metrics, and because of the unexpected swift upward trend in Guilford County think it is safest for us to continue our worship via live stream at 9 am only. Our church is a leader in our community, and this decision also supports our Mayor and the Cone Health System’s recommendations at this time.
We are glad that we had the opportunity to prepare and offer an in-person worship service that, when it is safe to do so, we will have again. We give thanks to the hard work of the COVID-19 Task Force and the FPC staff who have worked behind the scenes on safety, protocol, and execution of our services, as well as a big thank you to all church member volunteers such as our ushers who have supported this ministry effort.
We are very excited about Jill Duffield’s arrival in two weeks and our Advent celebration starting next Sunday! Two things you can do now to get ready:
Our Advent theme is Light in the Darkness. Together, we will continue to be the people of the light.
