Next Services for Wholeness

March 7, 5 p.m.

Our next Wholeness Service will be in our sanctuary at 5 pm on Sunday, March 7.

We invite all of you to join us in asking God for healing and wholeness for ourselves, for others, and for our suffering world.  Many of us have family and friends suffering from joblessness and an ailing economy.  And we know of others who are struggling for their next meal and a safe place to sleep.

We Christians have the privilege (and the duty) to gather and petition God for help with all of these human problems.

Once again First Presbyterian and New Creation Community Presbyterian church members will join forces to support each other during this service.  It is open to all, and we expect some of our Hot Dish & Hope guests will again be among us.

If you have never attended one of these services you might wonder what we do.  Fear not – you will not be put on the spot or required to do anything besides lend your silent support, if that is all you want to do.  We will offer a time and place of candlelight, of beautiful sung prayers, and of guiding words and spoken prayers that will bring us together in our petitions for God’s compassion and healing for those we hold up to God.

We will have a time to be silent, a time when you may speak openly of your concerns, and a time after that when anyone may come forward for private conversation and prayer with a pastor and a listener.  We will end the service with the sacrament of Communion.

You won’t hear a sermon, nor do any responsive reading.  We don’t take up a collection.  We invite you to come as you are – no need to dress up.  Just bring your concerns and know that we will support you as together we ask God for healing and wholeness.
