Adult Church School classes

The Green Team will have Dennis Quaintance speak about his philosophy of sustainable living and working, and also what motivates him to live in a way that considers environmental issues in his decisions. Garrison Room (Smith 201).


Sandie Gravett continues a four-part series, What the Bible Says about Human Sexuality, in the Agape class, Garden Room (Smith 106).

 

Commitment Class will join the Green Team in the Garrison Room (Smith 201) to hear Dennis Quaintance. 

 

Faith Matters meets in Forrest Room (Smith 200).


Uniform Lecture Series lesson in the Fellowship Class, Smith 208: Justified by Faith in Christ, Galatians 2:15-21


Homebuilders meet in the Cunningham Room (Smith 101) to discuss Improving Our Acoustics for Hearing the Gospel.

 

Paisley Single and Doubles meets in Smith 103.


Gerard Davidson continues A Study of Church Doctrines in the Seekers class, Shetler 214.

Young Men's Bible Class will meet in Redhead Hall, and Charles Howell will teach.

Neil Dunnavant preaches Take a Load Off Fanny during our three worship services:

  • 8:45 a.m. First Worship, sanctuary and live on 1320 AM
  • 10:30 a.m. Rejoice!, Life Center
  • 10:30 a.m. Sanctuary. Youth will collect a
    special offering for the Souper Bowl of Caring. Also during worship, we will celebrate the third anniversary of FPC JOBS, followed by a reception in the Virginia Gilmer Room (Smith 206).

Thanks to the donation of an anonymous underwriter, free signed copies of Neil's new book, Running With The Psalms: Stories will be available.

 

During Church School

Children's Church School Touch the Water, Taste the Bread 2nd-grade communion milestone class welcomes Tom Shelton and our elder friends, 9:30 a.m. in the Armfield Mini Auditorium beneath the sanctuary.

 

Middle School Faith Exploration – Our 6th- & 7th-graders will continue their study of the New Testament in Shetler 109.

 

Senior High Faith Exploration – We continue our exploration of Rob Bell's Nooma series and the Wired Word.


The Green Team presents Dennis Quaintance, CEO and CDO of Quaintance-Weaver Restaurants and Hotels. He will speak at 9:30 a.m. in Garrison Room (Smith 201) on "Living Sustainably at Work and Home."

Get an early look at the work of Kenda Creasy Dean, who will speak here in February for our Mullin Forum. Grier Booker Richards will lead Family Matters with another discussion on Kenda’s book, Almost Christian: What the Faith of Teenagers is Telling the American Church. Spencer Love (Memorial 200). Rev. Frank Dew will wrap up the discussion of his book Improving Our Acoustics for Hearing the Gospel, in the Cunningham Room (Smith 101).

 

 

After Church

FPC Youth Choir – will rehearse in Smith 312 at 4:30 p.m.

 

Presbyterian Youth Connection – Senior high youth will meet after the 10:30 a.m. service for lunch and to discuss the Souper Bowl of Caring offering. Pray for Middle School youth, who will be returning from their annual ski trip.
