My role at First Presbyterian Church is to provide leadership to the staff and congregation in the area of congregational care and nurture. Our staff of five provides Congregational Care through pastoral visits to home, retirement communities, skilled care facilities, and hospitals. I am the staff liaison to the Congregational Care Committee which oversees the comprehensive ministry of Congregational Care at FPC.

Church visitor
In terms of his service to the congregation as a part of our Congregational Care Ministry at First Presbyterian Church Russell is our most senior member. For many years he has been the face of the congregation to many people recuperating from an illness.
Because he knows our congregation so well he is in invaluable presence in our Congregational Care Ministry. Russell can be reached at 478-4706 or rsherrill@fpcgreensboro.org.
Congregational Care coordinator
Susan helps guide people who need Congregational Care to the right person on FPC’s Congregational Care Staff. She works closely with families who have experienced a death in the family and assists them in all of the different ways that the church can support them and walk with them. If a member of our congregation is unable to reach one of our Congregational Care pastors it is best to call Susan at 478-4709 or e-mail smatthews@fpcgreensboro.org.
Senior Pastor Sid Batts, Executive Pastor Neil Dunnavant and Associate Pastor for Discipleship Dolly Campbell Hunt are also available for Congregational Care conversations and visits.
