Oct. 26, 2009 — Connected
Facebook and other social networks are generating a lot of interesting research.
For instance, sociologists have estimated that most of us have 4 to 6 close friends. And a new study found that people average 6 to 7 close friends in their Facebook group.
And, anthropologists have estimated that each human has a social group of about 150 people. And the average Facebook user has 110 "friends."
So while we connect in new ways, the reasons why we connect remain the same: to share our joy and our pain, and to catch each other when we fall. That’s why relationships – being connected, and how we live with one another – is at the heart of faith.
