just a thought

Nov. 27, 2009 — John Maclean

Back in 1988, Australian John Maclean was hit by a truck as he was cycling near his home. The accident left him a paraplegic.

Since then he’s accomplished unbelievable athletic feats. The Hawaiian Triathlon, a swim across the English Channel, the World Rowing Championships – nothing seems to stop him.

He says the greatest gift he has received is the ability to believe in himself.

“If you can’t believe in yourself, who will believe in you?” he asks.

Well, our faith tells us that one of God’s gifts is that God always believes in us, and when someone really, really believes in us, we are able to meet challenges that would otherwise seem insurmountable.

Just a thought. I'm Sid Batts from First Presbyterian Church in downtown Greensboro, fpcgreensboro.org.
