Nov. 16, 2009 — Letter to yourself

If you could send a letter back through time to your younger self, what would the letter say?

That’s the question posed by writer Ellyn Spragins. Here is how former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright answered as she writes a retrospective letter to her younger self when she was going through a divorce:

 Dear Madeleine:

You will get through this fog and uncertainty – and you’ll do it in the best possible way. You won’t become cynical, stoical, or hard-bitten over the loss you’re feeling. Over the next 10 years you’ll rebuild and reinvent yourself, finding success – and tremendous satisfaction.

People of faith see life as a series of spiritual lessons learned. What would our letter say about those lessons?
