Nov. 4, 2009 — Perfect in weakness

There is a line in history that says something like: “The Roman Empire lost many battles, but it was successful in war.”

Well, it is often our mistakes or our weaknesses that lead us to success. How often we have seen that in the lives of people who have made a difference, people whose so-called weaknesses led them to success:

  • Louis Braille was blind, as were John Milton and Helen Keller.
  • Beethoven was deaf.
  • Franklin Roosevelt’s legs were paralyzed.
  • George Washington Carver stuttered.
  • Albert Einstein and Leonardo da Vinci had dyslexia.

There is a line in Scripture where God says: “My power is made perfect in your weakness.”

Just a thought. I'm Sid Batts from First Presbyterian Church in downtown Greensboro, fpcgreensboro.org.
