Nov. 2, 2009 — Chicken Little

You remember Chicken Little, who was struck on the head by a falling nut. She was young and inexperienced and thought the sky was falling; she set off to warn the king.

Now Chicken Little was young and could certainly be forgiven for over-reacting. But Henny Penny, Turkey Lurkey, Goosey Loosey and Ducky Lucky also joined the clamoring crusade instead of going to see if the sky was falling.

Of course, their fear was an illusion brought on by their ignorance. They were not stupid, but uninformed. Foxy Loxy, the sly fox, comes along and has them for dinner. 

The moral? Ignorance is dangerous. Theologian John Calvin once said our mind is in service to God.
