Jan. 25, 2010 — Children
Children! You’ve got to love them. They ask profoundly basic questions:
- “Why can’t we see God?”
- “Why is that man on the corner asking for money?”
- “Where is grandmother now that she is dead?”
Through their challenging questions, children give us fresh eyes to see the world and new ways to see God and our own faith.
We find it all too easy to view people and events with mistrust and cynicism. But constantly looking, for the down side, can turn us into a modern-day Scrooge.
Jesus loved children and reminded us that seeing God and seeing the world as a child sees God and the world gets us closer to that place He called The Kingdom of God.
Just a thought. I'm Sid Batts from First Presbyterian Church in downtown Greensboro, fpcgreensboro.org.
