Jan. 6, 2010 — Giving works
Three years ago, Cami Walker was told that she had MS. Devastated by the news, she could barely get out of bed in the morning.
Then a good friend said, “Cami, you really need to stop thinking about yourself. ... You're feeding this disease." The friend challenged her to give something every day for 29 days.
She did, and now she is happier and feels better physically and spiritually. She even wrote a best-selling book about it. "I don't see it as a cure. I still have MS," she said. "I wake up more focused on what I'm capable of."
Well, focusing on what we're capable of and what God is capable of doing through us, is a healing way to live.
Just a thought. I'm Sid Batts from First Presbyterian Church in downtown Greensboro, fpcgreensboro.org.
