Feb. 12, 2010 — Always hope
After last month’s devastating earthquake in Haiti, people who by all odds should not have survived were rescued. Amid the loss and tragedy, there were miracles.
One man was convinced that his wife was still alive under a collapsed building. A bulldozer began to level the site. Each time it stopped, he walked over to the wreckage and called his wife’s name. He finally heard her voice.
Hours later, she was pulled from beneath the rubble, and she began to sing a song of praise.
For those who were watching, her song was a powerful reminder that in whatever circumstances we find ourselves, there is hope.
People of faith develop a unique perspective, and it’s called hope.
Just a thought. I'm Sid Batts from First Presbyterian Church in downtown Greensboro, fpcgreensboro.org.
