Feb. 4, 2010 — Piano call
In college, Jake studied industrial engineering because he thought it would make for a solid career. When he graduated, he landed a good job, but he soon found that the job wasn’t all that satisfying.
As he tried to figure out what was missing, what kept coming to mind was the beautiful, black piano that sat in his home. He had learned to play it when he was a small boy.
Jake now plays the piano every week at a dinner for people who are homeless and hungry.
Well, God speaks to each of us in unique ways. A piano called out to Jake. He answered because the piano and his music is a way to express his faith.
Which makes me wonder: How might you and I find our unique way to express our faith?
Just a thought. I'm Sid Batts from First Presbyterian Church in downtown Greensboro, fpcgreensboro.org.
