Dec. 28, 2009 — A prayer a day
A friend opened up a homemade Christmas card. The note inside read:
One of our favorite things about the holidays is the sending and receiving of Christmas cards. Throughout December our kitchen walls become covered with faces of dear friends and images of Christmas.
Around the end of January we begin removing the cards one per night at dinner and praying for that family during our blessing … The last Christmas card of 2008 came down this past June! We cannot wait to begin praying for you all again.
So perhaps we might gather up all those Christmas cards we received and keep them someplace important, like in our prayers.
Just a thought. I'm Sid Batts from First Presbyterian Church in downtown Greensboro, fpcgreensboro.org.
