Dec. 10, 2009 — Vampire heaven

The Twilight vampires are back, continuing to ask the big questions in life, or undeath, or whatever.

In the movie New Moon, the big question is about hope for the next life. The plot is kind of complicated, but it boils down to this: Edward believes that he's been destroyed and has gone to heaven, because he has been reunited with Bella. Later, he wrestles with the idea that there is no God for creatures like himself.

So if the most popular vampire around is wrestling with how God fits into his vampire world, maybe the rest of us can, too.

And maybe we have a “Bella” who helps us envision God.
