FPC Jobsnet's Web site has more information about the group and its members.
Jobsnet meets each Tuesday and Thursday at 8:30 a.m. in Smith 100, the Cunningham Room. Anyone dealing with the effects of losing a job is welcome.
FPC Jobsnet is a community outreach ministry of our church. Our first meeting was held Feb. 6, 2009, with six in attendance.
We have now grown to 251 active members and have 79 alumni working full time.
That's 320 FPC Jobs members – 64 percent male and 36 percent female; 90 percent are college graduates; 22.5 percent have an MBA or higher; and 7.5 percent have international experience.
We have evolved over time and continue to broaden our efforts in different and exciting ways to help members of the community "find their way" to a new job.
As you know the job market continues to be tight, and there is little short term evidence that it will be changing soon.
Therein lies the purpose of this request.
Eighty percent of job opportunities are never posted and are filled by word of mouth. The three most important things a job seeker must accomplish in their job search are networking, networking and networking. We are asking you to be a part of their/our network.
I know, I have heard it before, "I don't know anybody." You do know somebody. You don't go though the day without talking to somebody and you never know who has information about an upcoming opportunity unless you ask.
Here is what we are asking you to do:
If you have any questions please call Bill Linton 288-2467 or 202-2467. If you want to be a part of our network let Bill know via e-mail, wtlecl@aol.com, or by calling Bill at one of the numbers listed above.
