Church members supporting Espwa in aftermath of massive quake

First Presbyterian members have donated more than $31,000 to Espwa, the children's home in Haiti, in the aftermath of January's earthquake.

Marc Boisvert, Espwa's director, wrote this note of thanks:

Dear sisters and brothers of FPC,

"The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; and those who are crushed in spirit he saves." (Ps. 34: 19)

Your Executive Pastor, Neil Dunnavant, informed me that you have raised $31,342 for the Haitian Earthquake Relief Effort.

This is amazing and will be put to use in addressing the needs of the children who lost family in Port-au-Prince and have become our newest family members. Your support is a great consolation to us and a symbol of God's love for the children.

Be assured of our gratitude and prayers.

Father Marc
