Combined worship in July

On all five Sundays in July we'll gather together in the Sanctuary at 10:30 am for worship, which will include a new sermon series, "Finding and Being Found by God." Each week's service has a different musical style.

• July 2: Patriotic Sunday, with organ music; Dolly Jacobs preaching
• July 9: Jazz; Neil Dunnavant preaching
• July 16: Bluegrass; David Partington preaching
• July 23: Children and youth-led; Neil Dunnavant preaching
• July 30: Rejoice!-style worship in the Sanctuary with Communion; Dolly Jacobs preaching.

Our Rejoice! worship service in Mullin Life Center will not meet in July. It will be back in August.

Finding God in the Short Story

Also in July, Rev. Neil Dunnavant leads a short story study titled "Finding God in the Short Story" in the Garden Room on Sundays, July 9-30. Here's the story schedule:

• July 9: “Sweet Armageddon” by William Hoffman
• July 16: “The Scarlet Moving Van” by John Cheever
• July 23: “Sloth” by Charles Baxter
• July 30: “Clancy in the Tower of Babel” by John Cheever.

It's easiest to reach the Garden Room by entering the church's Welcome Center at the corner of North Elm Street and Fisher Park Circle.

Summer Sharing

During July we are collecting toiletries, linens, cleaning supplies, and paper products for our 47 members who arrived as refugees from central Africa. Please drop off donations in the Welcome Center or the Corl Building. See a list of suggested donations and more information here.
