Join us as we continue a journey in spirituality. This class is led by participants and uses the 12-step program as a guide in our search for wholeness, peace and grace. Over the next six weeks we will be focusing on individual steps in the program, discussing how they relate to our own lives and exploring how they can inspire new beginnings in our spiritual journeys. Adult Forum, Smith 201
Members and guests teach a wide range of subjects of Christian concern in today’s society. The class appeals to men and women of broadly ranging ages and interests. Guests include college faculty, ministers, community agency executives, civic and political leaders, physicians and others. Contact: John Stuart, 545-9440.
Agape, Smith 106
Members and friends join in fellowship and focus on Bible study. Teachers are chosen from the class members; guest speakers are occasionally invited. The class promotes and service projects and outreach ministries throughout the year. Special emphasis is given to a service project during the Christmas season. Contact: Ann Snyder, 275-2082.
Commitment, Memorial 100
Class members share leadership of lively discussions on contemporary Christian topics and concerns, relating the challenges of the Bible to daily life in Greensboro and beyond. This is a new class forming this fall. Are you looking for a place to connect on Sunday morning? This class will offer opportunities to read, listen and discuss a variety of topics. With questions about this class, please call Ann Davenport, 691-0612.
Emmaus Road, Smith 203
These adults are interested in discovering or rediscovering the Bible and developing a strong Christian faith for life. The class provides the mutual support of a smaller class (5-15) for study, prayer and preparation for mission. The purpose of the class may be described in the words of Ephesians 4:12: “to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for the building up of the body of Christ.” Contact: Frank Harris, 852-0535.
Fellowship, Smith 208
These women enjoy fellowship, singing and study. Teachers are: Anne Jones, Kim McCarthy, Trip Brown and Peggy Rice. Each fifth Sunday the class joins the Young Men’s Bible Class. Homebuilders, Memorial 201
This class is made up of both individuals and couples in their late 20's to early 50's. The basis of the curriculum is the study of the Bible and/or related Christian topics in order to strengthen families (marriage, parenting, personal growth and Christian faith). The members primarily teach the class. Guest speakers, including ministers, also lead the class periodically. The members also get together for dinner-groups and parties. Paisley Singles and Doubles, Memorial 200
This class for men and women typically over the age of 45 meets for Bible-based contemporary lessons with a desire to grow in faith, service, knowledge and worship of Jesus Christ. Fellowship activities such as suppers and retreats to the beach or mountains are held, and groups meet regularly for social interaction and community service projects. If you’re single or married, in your late 30’s or 40’s and ready for the next step in your growth as a disciple, join others who are excited about this class where we can build relationships and study and grow together. Seekers, Shetler 214
The class focuses on understanding the Christian faith and how it applies to our daily lives. Study units with emphasis on the Bible run about eight weeks each. Outstanding teaching by class members and guests and spirited discussions are hallmarks of the class. Occasional social gatherings foster friendships. Class service enhances community ministry. Young Men’s Bible Class, Redhead Hall
Organized in 1929, this men’s class has members in their 20s as well as in their 80s! Teachers are Doug Albright, Todd Roberts, Erwin Fuller and Sam Simpson. On fifth Sundays, Dr. Joe Mullin teaches. Contact: Al Lineberry, 272-1474.
